| Why the TETRAX
I have been using the TETRAX Balance System for almost one year now and
find it to be a very invaluable tool when assessing balance in persons
of all ages. The information it provides can give insight as to what areas
are affecting the balance and to help to direct the treatment of the client.
The TETRAX will give a fall risk index in a percentage which is a useful
number for quick reference and gives the client something to remember.
The more detailed posture analysis will identify if the imbalance is due
to visual concerns, inner ear, Somatosensory, central vestibular (neurological),
cervical or other orthopedic concerns or if the client may be intentionally
swaying for insurance purposes. You can also analyze the balance to a
greater degree by looking at individual charts of each test and to see
the direction of the sway.
From a business perspective Tetrax will increase your referral base.
Once I informed the physicians in Saskatoon about the new balance testing
available and shared the results from their clients, I was starting to
see that physicians were now referring specifically for the TETRAX testing
of balance. The results of the test are not just useful to me as a physical
therapist but also to the physicians who are making the diagnostic judgements.
The training program for the TETRAX is very user friendly and very motivating
to the clients to maintain their balance or to learn to control their
sway. It has been useful with several clients so far and my only limitation
is my time available to use it.
The more I use the TETRAX the more easily I am able to interpret the
information. I like the availability of support through the United States
or Israel.
